This Privacy Policy describes the data handling practices for the Reward Confirmation Helper Chrome Extension (the “Extension”), an internal utility provided exclusively to verified members of GetBooksReviewed.com.
The Extension’s purpose is to facilitate the secure verification of public book reviews on Amazon marketplaces and other websites for our internal reward system. We adhere strictly to the principles of data minimization and security.
1. Data Collected by the Extension
The Extension only collects data that is already visible on the Amazon webpage and operates only when a member actively clicks the Extension’s toolbar icon while viewing a review page.
Categories of Data Collected:

Note on HTML: The raw HTML content of the review is processed in our server’s memory temporarily for accurate verification and is never permanently stored on the user’s device or our servers for storage.
2. Purpose and Use of Collected Data
The collected data is used solely for the following purposes:
- Verification: To confirm that a review submitted for a reward claim by a member matches the publicly posted review details on Amazon.
- Fraud Prevention: To ensure the accuracy and integrity of the GetBooksReviewed.com reward system.
- Authentication: The Application Password token is used to log the user into our REST API for data submission.
3. Data Transmission and Security
All data transmission from the Extension is exclusively internal and highly secured:
- Endpoint: Extracted data is transmitted only to the secure, authenticated API endpoints of the GetBooksReviewed.com website.
- No Third Parties: No data is ever sent to third parties, external services, advertisers, or analytics networks.
- Transmission Security: Data is secured using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption during transmission.
- Authentication Security: User authentication is handled using WordPress Application Passwords. Amazon login credentials or regular member passwords are never accessed, transmitted, or stored by the Extension.
4. Data Retention and User Control
- Retention: Only the final verification status, match results, and token transaction records are retained in the GetBooksReviewed.com database. The raw Amazon HTML data is immediately processed and discarded.
- Future Scope: While the current version only accesses Amazon, any future version expanding to other websites will be subject to an updated Privacy Policy and Chrome Web Store review process.
- User Control: Members can revoke the Extension’s access to their account at any time by signing out of the extension.
